Miniture Golf

A couple nights ago we took Landry Miniature Golfing. It was so much fun. I hadn't been in a long time. My golfing skills, miniature or not, are something to be desired! Jeff is a good golfer so Landry had a good teacher. She thought that was a great adventure and was really getting the hang of it. She's already planning her next game!

Pretzel Making

When I was in High School - oh so many years ago - I took Home Ec. Yes, my teacher who also happened to be my Aunt, had the patience of a Saint. Trying to teach me how to sew AND cook - YIKES! I didn't ever really catch the desire to sew but I do enjoy cooking. One of the things we loved to make were pretzels. I had forgotten all about them until a couple of weeks ago. I decided to pull out my Home Ec cookbook and let Landry try them. She thought that was great fun and so did I.

Our Getaway

We always go to Henry's Lake for opening fishing day. It always falls on the Memorial holiday weekend. However, this year it also happened to be Landry's preschool graduation. So we decided to delay our trip for a couple of weeks. We spent 3 days at the cabin and then drove through Yellowstone park and Grand Teton park and then stayed one night in Jackson Hole. We went fishing and Landry was pretty excited to use her new fishing pole. Here first 'catch' was a weed! One of the things I always look forward to when we go fishing is eating the fish. I was not a trout eating kind of gal when I first met Jeff but have changed my ways since then. Dave, my father in law, cooks the best fish! We love it! It was so much fun to spend time with Jeff and Landry and to have a few days to relax and rest.

A little bit of rest for everyone!

Old Faithful

I love the Grand Teton range. It always amazes me - I can't believe how beautiful it is.
We have to make our stop at Bubba's BBQ. This picture was taken in honor of Uncle Bubba (Marshal). Landry couldn't understand how we were going to eat at his restaurant if he was on him mission in Ohio - Hmmmm?

You have to have the standard picture in front of the antler arch in Jackson. Unfortunately so does everyone else - thus the reason those other people are in the picture too.

King of the Dirt Mountain

We have been in the process of getting our yard put in. A couple weeks ago we had more dirt brought in and Landry discovered a new toy. She thought it was great fun to climb to the top and then slide back down. Then she convinced her Dad that he should play too. Of course Dad takes it to a whole new level. We had to get out the trucks, sand pails and shovels AND the snow sled - need I say more! It was a great new adventure. Now that it has stopped raining and we actually have had some sunshine, the ground was hard enough that we were able to have the dirt spread out. Landry was very disappointed to see her fun being destroyed. I keep telling her that grass will be SO much better!

Tiny Dancer

Last week landry had her dance recital. Both Grandmas and Grandpas came and so did her cousin Paityn. She looked so darn cute - if I do say so myself - and she did a great job too! Afterwards she got to have a slumber party with Paityn. I think she was more excited for that than the dance recital. I really appreciate my parents and in-laws making the trip to Logan. I'm sure there were other things that they would rather be doing - especially the Grandpas!

Tea Parties

Landry was introduced to tea parties by her Grandma Hunter. Ever since then she LOVES to have tea parties. I don't know what she likes the best - if it's the mini plates and cups, that she gets to stick her pinkie finger out when she drinks the tea or that she gets to pour the tea over and over and over. She's had tea parties with both Grandmas and Grandpas, her Uncle Marshal, some of her little girlfriends, roped her Dad into it on more than one occasion and Mom. One day she wanted to have one so bad she invited the neighbor boy over. Much to his Dads dismay! And much to Landry's dismay he didn't follow tea party etiquette. She kept telling him that he couldn't talk with his mouth full of muffins and cookies! This last Saturday she had a tea party with her friend Cora. They dressed up in their favorite princess costumes and then decorated crowns and wands and had mini muffins and cookies with their tea.

Why boys shouldn't be allowed at tea parties. Her dad taught her to 'guzzle it' from the tea pot!

Crash Eyewitness

This entry is more of a journal entry than anything, so please bear with me. On Friday I was on my way to lunch with my friends Kris and Diane. They were in a different car since I was heading home afterward. I was at the stop light on 6th East (heading South) when all of the sudden I see this Cadillac (heading East) decide to turn onto 6th East from 4th North. However, he either didn't see the truck coming (heading West on 4th North) through the intersection or he thought he could beat him. The next thing I know I hear brakes locking up and the guys in the truck plowed right into the passanger side of the Cadillac. I'm not sure if the guy in the truck was trying to avoid him but when he hit him they were heading straight at me. It was one of those things where I knew what was coming but I didn't have time to do anything. For whatever reason the guy in the Cadillac missed me and the truck stopped with about an inch between our bumpers. When they finally stopped the driver of the truck and I were staring right at each other. I'm pretty sure my heart stopped for a minute! The guys in the truck were ok and so was the gentleman in the Cadilac, however I'm not sure about his wife they were trying to get her out when I was finally able to leave. I hope that she is alright. I'm so glad that Diane and Kris were there with me - it was nice to have friends there to keep me steady. I'm also very grateful that I wasn't hit and that no harm was done to the sexy Contour. As much as I really, really want a new car this wasn't the way I wanted to do it.
